The Hutchinson boys' basketball team took third-place at the Glencoe-Silver Lake Boosters Tournament, beating Buffalo Lake-Hector, 86-60 Saturday night.
Brady Hendricks scored a team-high 25 points, while Ben Aalfs chipped in 20 points. Bill Moritz, nine points, and Travis Brown, seven points, were both season-highs.

After being nipped 3-2 in overtime Wednesday in the Owatonna Tournament by the host team, the Tigers girls' hockey team split a pair of games Thursday and Friday.
Hutchinson defeated Willmar, 4-3, to record the second victory over the Cardinals this season. The Tigers accomplished the same feat last season.
Time heals wounds, but some wounds can't be healed. When the Gopher football team blew a 35-7 lead to Michigan in the fourth quarter in 2003, I was left with a wound that will never be healed. I can never believe that a Gophers lead is safe.
Two weeks ago, Waconia boys' basketball team defeated Hutchinson, 79-48. The second time around, the score was different, but the margin was the same. Waconia beat the Tigers, 70-39.
The matchup was a semifinal contest of the Glencoe-Silver Lake Boosters Tournament. Waconia led 26-17 at halftime, but outscored the Tigers 44-22 in the second half.

I think 2006 was a pretty decent year for movies. Next year looks to be just as promising, with a great lineup including "300," "Ghost Rider," "Hannibal Rising," "The Astronaut Farmer," "Zodiac," "Fido," "Sunshine," "Grindhouse," "Spider-Man 3," "28 Weeks Later," and "1408."
Senior Andy McPherson scored a goal and assisted on three others as the Tigers boys' hockey team beat Minneapolis West, 4-1, Thursday in the second game of the Silver Bay Invitational.
Hutchinson defeated Ely, 6-3, Wednesday.
Next Tuesday, McLeod County will have a new sheriff.
Sheriff-elect Scott Rehmann, of Winsted, will be sworn in by District Court Judge Terrence Conkel on the morning of Jan. 2.
