Six Minutes Over Hutchinson: Episode 10, April 3, 2008
April 3, 2008 - 11:51am — Jorge Sosa
Listen to this week's “Six Minutes Over Hutchinson,” as Kay and Jorge welcome a very special guest! Mary Haugen is the charming and talented director of the Hutchinson Theater Company's production of “The Mousetrap.” This murder mystery whodunit play by Agatha Christie opens this weekend and will also run next weekend. Haugen shares why this spine-tingler has run consecutively in London since 1952! As always, thanks for listening to “Six Minutes Over Hutchinson!” (Jorge Sosa is a staff writer for the Hutchinson Leader. He can be reached at sosa@hutchinsonleader.com)

Back to page topDid anyone go to see “The Mousetrap” last weekend? When we chatted with director Mary Haugen for last week's podcast (click here to listen if you missed it :-) ), she promised there'd be a few startling jolts.
I've never been to a theater performance that made me jump, and I was wondering how that works. Back in 1959, the horror movie “The Tingler” featured vibrating buzzers in the seats to startle audience members. Now, there's an idea.

Back to page topI went and it was great! I can't say much as I don't want to give anything away, but it was well worth it! Great job cast and director!
If you have the chance, you must see it!

Back to page topI agree. I enjoyed it a lot, too. The Hutchinson Theatre Company always does a great job. This one was a whodunnit and it held my interest from beginning to end. Here's what happens at the end — just kidding. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for something to do this weekend.
