Welcome to another tasteful edition of “Six Minutes Over Hutchinson!”

This week, Kay and Jorge preview Saturday's Gopher Campfire Wild Game Feed and Fun Night and Sunday's Oscar awards.

Also, listen to this week's episode of “Six Minutes Over Hutchinson” for details on our first-ever listener contest. Kay and Jorge want to know: What's the wildest food you've ever eaten? If it's wild enough, you could win a sweet prize!

We have gotten some...

Back to page top

We have gotten some interesting entries so far in our first-ever "Six Minutes Over Hutchinson" listener contest.

The person who's eaten the wildest food will get a cool prize. Listen to this week's episode for more details.

One person was concerned the blue jay they ate (it tasted like chicken!) might be on the protected species list. As far as I can tell, it's not.

Keep those entries coming! Smileys

If your wild cuisine happens...

If your wild cuisine happens to be on the endangered species list, we won't turn you in. After all, what can we do? You ate the evidence! But we probably shouldn't reward people for munching on bald eagle or spotted owl :-) So, yes, we'd grant you "immunity" but you wouldn't win the cool prize.

For those just joining the conversation, “Six Minutes Over Hutchinson” is running it's first-ever listener contest. What's the wildest food you've eaten? If it's wild enough, you could win a sweet prize! Listen to this week's episode for more details.

Incidentally, we've heard from Erik Krueger, an American actor living in China, who's tried barbecued eel. Krueger is too far away to claim the prize, but he just wanted us to know about it. Gee, thanks.

Did any of you attend the Gopher Campfire Wild Game Feed Saturday night? If so, tell us what you ate. Your adventurous appetite might make you a winner!

Chicken with scales? Eww....

Back to page top

Chicken with scales? Eww. That's how a recent contest entrant described the eel he and his wife ate at fancy restaurant in Hawaii.

Keep those weird food tales coming. You could win a sweet prize if you've eaten the weirdest food. Unless the food in question is long pig. To quote Willy Wonka, "That is called 'cannibalism,' my dear children, and is in fact frowned upon in most societies."

For the full contest details (or if you're just bored), listen to Episode 4 of "Six Minutes Over Hutchinson."
