Government & Public SafetyStewart woman faces three meth chargesMay 9, 2008 - 2:21pm — Terry DavisA 31-year-old Stewart woman was arrested Wednesday, May 7, following the execution of a search warrant at her home in the 300 block of Mowbray Street in Stewart. Rhonda Marie Bombeck has been charged by McLeod County Attorney Mike Junge’s office with second-degree controlled substance crime, possession of substances to manufacture methamphetamine and storing meth paraphernalia in the presence of a child. Forty-three high school students from six area schools attended McLeod County Student Government Day Tuesday. Twenty-three local residents, 20 visiting foreign-exchange students and one foreign-exchange teacher were invited to attend. The students observed part of a County Board meeting, then toured the Law Enforcement Center and Court Administration. Later, they met with District Court officials.

The man, with no permanent address, was arrested in the area of Fifth Avenue Northwest and Glen Street. Officers had checked the license plates of the 1993 Oldsmobile and learned it was reported stolen. Woman charged with assaulting officerApril 29, 2008 - 11:15am — Terry DavisA 20-year-old Hutchinson woman has been charged by the McLeod County Attorney’s Office with allegedly assaulting a police officer. According to police, they were called to a home in the 600 block of Roberts Road about 6:50 a.m. Saturday, April 26, on a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they found an allegedly intoxicated woman acting disorderly. While attempting to arrest her, the woman allegedly kicked one of the officers on his upper leg.
