According to Rueters, filmmaker Ridley Scott ("American Gangster," "Gladiator") is directing a futuristic flick based on the real estate game "Monopoly."

Considering the current housing and mortgage mess, one could be forgiven for assuming Scott's going to serve up another gritty, bleak dystopia as he did in 1982's "Blade Runner."

"Blade Runner: The Final Cut" is due for a limited theatrical release in October, followed by a December DVD release.
