Run, Danny Boy, run!Run, Danny Boy, run!Makers of the 22nd James Bond film, “Quantum of Solace,” are walking a fine line between good storytelling and explosioney goodness, according to fan site MI6.com.

OK, they didn't use the term “explosioney.” But you know what I mean.

“What (director Marc Forster) wanted, and the producers, and what I wanted is to bring back a visual flair to the movie, so that every frame in every shot that we see is beautiful,” Bond star Daniel Craig explained during a press conference last week in Chile. “And there may be things exploding, but they're good to look at.”

There will be very little computer-aided wizardry involved in transforming actor Benicio Del Toro into “The Wolf Man.”

Empire Online recently interviewed a producer on the remake of the 1941 horror classic, Scott Stuber.

Stuber reports “The Wolf Man" relies heavily on the hands-on approach of makeup effects guru Rick Baker. Baker's impressive resumé includes hair-raising work on “The Howling,” “An American Werewolf in London,” Michael Jackson's “Thriller” video and Tim Burton's remake of “Planet of the Apes.”

U.S. box office receipts hit an all-time high in 2007, according to a Reuters report.

The record $9.63 billion haul shows Hollywood is rebounding from a 2005 slump — sort of. The actual number of admissions remained flat from 2006 to 2007 and the boost came from higher ticket prices, according to Reuters.

It's worth noting that three of 2007's movies are among the highest grossing ever in the U.S. “Spider-Man 3” is the 15th-highest grosser ever, “Shrek the Third” is the 18th and “Transformers” was the 19th-highest grosser.
