His pupils are misaligned. Creepy.OK, anyone who thinks Johnny Depp is The Sexiest Man Alive will want to check out the picture to the right.
Still think he's hot? Yeah, that's him as The Mad Hatter for director Tim Burton's forthcoming adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland."
"Alice in Wonderland" will also star Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, and Matt Lucas as both Tweedledee and Tweedledum.
You can see photos of the cast here, thanks to Yahoo! Movies. At least Wasikowska and Hathaway look pretty normal. Well, Hathaway's flowing ivory looks aren't exactly normal, but they're not likely to frighten small children.
"Alice in Wonderland" is due in theaters March 5.
Depp on the set of 'The Rum Diary'The Bad & Ugly has posted photos of Johnny Depp on-location in Puerto Rico for the "The Rum Diary," a film adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson's early novel.
As you can see, Depp is looking pretty tough behind the wheel of that tiny Fiat 500. It's not as cool as either of the big ragtops he drove in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," but maybe we'll see Depp lay down some fancy heel-and-toe.
For those of you unfamiliar with the book, it's Thompson's semi-autobiographical tale of a reporter who moves to Puerto Rico in the late '50s to work for an Engligh-language daily paper. The pay is awful, the weather is great, and the rum is cheap and plentiful. The story includes a love triangle, a murder and Thompson's trademark shenanigans.
Johnny Depp as The Riddler? I'd be
OK with that.Johnny Depp recently dispelled a persistent Internet rumor that he's playing The Riddler in the next Batman movie.
Depp was interviewed a few days ago by the morning crew at Big 105.9, a Miami classic rock station. Depp chatted with DJs Paul and Young Ron in advance of a reunion gig with his old band, The Kids, in Miami last week.
When asked if he was playing the part, he replied, "Not that I know of," before adding, "It seems like it’d be a fun gig for awhile, yeah."
Al Pacino and Johnny Depp

The Gist: The true-life tale of an undercover cop on the edge.
Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp
in 'Sweeney Todd'The Digital Bits reports spring DVD release dates for two of 2007's finest horror flicks.
"The Mist" is due out in a two-disc collector's edition on March 25 and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" will appear in both one- and two-disc form April 1.
I don't think "Sweeney Todd" ever played in our area, so if you didn't get a chance to see it, I recommend at least renting it. I can't remember the last time I saw a horror musical and "Sweeney Todd" delivers both memorable songs and gruesome effects.

Director Terry Gilliam and Johnny Depp may team up once more for "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote."
Depp and Gilliam previously collaborated on 1998's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."
As my co-worker Kay Johnson recently reported, the next “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie is due out May 24.
Beth is tickled pink, because that is her birthday. We’ve pretty much got our date figured out for that night.
