Rochester, MN – The Rochester Amateur Sports Commission is pleased to announce that they have been selected as a host city the Jennie Finch Softball Camp in Rochester, MN this December.
The opportunity came about after Jennie’s visit to Rochester for the Rochester Area Sports Banquet where she was the featured speaker. She felt the support of the Sports Commission, the geographical location of Rochester and the strong growth of softball in the region created a perfect opportunity to hold the event.
Jennie will be on hand to teach the camp along with other Olympic and Professional softball teammates for two full days of personal instruction covering all aspects of softball. The event is limited to the first 400 attendees that register with players 4th grade and older eligible.
“We are thrilled to have Jennie coming back to Rochester and bringing her camp to offer to the area players” shared Sports Commission Executive Director Ed Hruska. “Jennie is a first class player and person. Having the opportunity to learn from her and her Olympian teammates is a unique opportunity”.
Registration is $175 per person, which includes two full days of the instructional camp with lunches, camp T-shirt, a swag bag full of goodies, autographed picture of Jennie, a certificate of participation and the opportunity to have a picture taken with Jennie.
The event will be held December 12-13, 2009 at the UCR Regional Indoor Complex located on the RCTC campus. A Champions Dinner will also be held on the Friday night before the camp.
Registration forms are now being mailed out by the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission office. Please call the Sports Commission office for any additional details at 507-280-4701.
