St. Cloud State opens Homecoming Fun Run registration

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Registration is now open for St. Cloud State University’s annual Homecoming Run, which will take place Saturday, Oct. 18.

This year’s 5k run/walk and 1k junior run/walk, open to the public as well as students, is sponsored by SCSU Campus Recreation, House of Pizza, the Endurunce Shop, Big Apple Bagels and Pickle Events.

The Homecoming Run will take place along the Mississippi River, utilizing the Beaver Island Trails.

Awards for the 5k will be presented to the first three male and female finishers in each age group; awards will go to the first three places in each age group for the 1k.

Participants receive a t-shirt, refreshments and the opportunity to win door prizes.

Weather permitting, free games, activities and crafts will be available to children during the race.

The Fun Run coincides with a number of athletic events being hosted by the university over Homecoming Weekend. The Husky football team will challenge University of Minnesota Duluth at the Husky Stadium at 2 p.m., with the women’s hockey team taking them on at 5:07 p.m. at the National Hockey Center.
