Whalen link and my Colorado trip

For the Lindsay Whalen fans out there, here is a great story on what she has been up too:

I'm hoping to catch up with Lindsay sometime over the next month and right a longer story on her. She is in her sixth year with the Sun - just signed a new contract and just got married last fall. A lot has been happening, and hopefully it culminates with a trip to Beijing with the US Olympic team.

Hey boss, can I go?

I got back Monday from a three-day trip to Colorado - well, it was actually five days since we left Thursday night and got back Monday morning. First off, that is a horrible drive (13-15 hours) through Iowa and Nebraska. I was fully expecting to see mountains a lot sooner than 40 or 50 miles away from Denver.

I got one win and two un-Twinslike performances. Coors Field is gorgeous - the best park I've ever been to. Red Rocks was awesome and the brewery tour at 11 a.m. was a lot of fun.

It was really interesting to meet other Twins fans that made the trip, and ones that live in Colorado. Apparently there is a huge population of Minnesotans out there. Same climate, just warmer. I got a chance to chat with Mr. Mauer for a few minutes in the outfield before Friday's game. All of the women behind and around me were really jealous.

No, you can't have his number.

It's good to be back - it's a very busy part of the season. Softball playoffs begin today; baseball begins Friday; golf begins Thursday; track is at conferences today and Thursday and than sections next week; and tennis individuals starts Saturday.

Hopefully I can get around and see as much as possible (I dislike driving right now though).
