It is getting close to the Water Carnival kick off. As the Medallion Hunt Coordinator, I wanted to remind the hunters to get ready to hunt for the medallion worth $500 in Hutch Bucks. Since the Leader website as changed its format, I would encourage hunters to share ideas on the website and discuss where they feel it could be hidden. This discussion will be helpful for the selection of sites for years to come. I will not able to share my ideas or offer any additional clues, but possibly would comment on the general discussion which could be helpful in the Hunt.

$500 Medallion is on the North side of town I think. The past 4 years its been south of Highway 7, so I'm starting my hunting on the north side. Does anyone else have any ideas?

I second that "What does it look like" comment. I *think* I read last year its on a 1 in piece of wood, with a picture of whats on the buttons. And like 6 inches across? Anyone know?

The medallion looks like an oversized coin. It is round, made from wood and is engraved with writing to identify it as the Water Carnival medallion.

The $500 Medallion is approximately 3 inches in diameter by 1 inch thick. It is made from oak. There is burned text on it, then it is stained and given a few coats of polyurethane. Does Frogmama, MovieGeek, TW, Jeff Brewer, or anyone else have any thoughts on where it is?

I have suggested to post a picture of the coin on our clue website and also on the Jaycee Watercarnival website. I have not seen anything posted yet. I agree that there should always be a photo of it as there are a lot of us not aware of what it does look like. This should be done yearly.
Visual is so much better than words.
