Deleted forum

A forum announcement was recently deleted from the Leader’s Web site because it contained an unauthorized commercial message for a business. The person posted it again and made an offensive remark about its removal.

Just like the printed newspaper, all news stories, reader letters and opinions posted are free from commercial advertisements.

Ads are clearly a part of the site, but not mixed with news and comments. Users of the site rely on members to not disguise a commercial or ad message as news or reader opinion.

People signing-up to post on this site agree to behavior standards. Community members can report abuse such as offensive language or disguising commercial messages in comments by clicking the “report abuse” link at the very top of the page.

Users have plenty of opportunities to view ads on this and other Internet sites. To continue to be a reliable source of news and opinion, ad messages will not be disguised in stories and opinions in the print or online editions of the paper.
