Minnesota nice is the stereotypical behavior of Minnesota residents described as hospitality and courtesy to others. The term is also sometimes used in a derogatory way, to connote a sort of smiling stubbornness, forced politeness, false humility or passive aggressive hostility.

I recently came to Hutchinson from San Jose CA. After being here for nearly six weeks I am culturally shocked (yes it seems to work the other way too).
And Minnesota nice is funny.
You added nicely to the people's MN nice criterium, (a sign of intellectual laziness - typical immature bandersonesque behavior - a cry for help (do you need a hug))
