Earth vs. Moon: This
time, it's personal! The Hollywood Reporter announced Universal recently won a four-way bidding war for “Earth Vs. Moon,” a story pitch for “a sci-fi epic.”
Not much else has been made public about the film, written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, except the story sold for “the mid- to high-six figures.”
How much you wanna bet that it's the long-awaited sequel to Georges Méliès 1902 silent film, “A Trip to the Moon?” That's the one where a crew of astronomers put the Man in the Moon's eye out with their rocket. Ever since then, the Big Green Cheesehead has had it in for us.
Wernick and Reese have collaborated on several TV series and Reese did some writing on the 2001 Pixar animated feature, “Monsters, Inc.”
