If she were alive today, the lovely and talented Ingrid Bergman would be celebrating her 92nd birthday.
Ingrid Bergman
When most people think of Bergman, they probably picture her as Ilsa in 1942's "Casablanca." As Humphrey Bogart's co-star, she exuded class, beauty and intelligence.
Bergman started acting in Swedish films during the 1930s, until MGM recruited her. She starred in dozens of pictures, including two Hitchcock thrillers, "Notorious" and "Spellbound." She was also in Sidney Lumet's star-studded 1974 ensemble piece, "Murder on the Orient Express."
She continued acting in TV and movies practically up until her death in 1982. She won a Best Actress Emmy for her portrayal of Israeli prime minister Golda Meir in a TV mini-series that year, but didn't live to collect the award.
Bergman died from cancer, strangely enough, on her birthday at age 67.
Her daughter, Isabella Rossellini, grew up to be a stunning model and gifted actor in her own right.
