Johnny Depp recently dispelled a persistent Internet rumor that he's playing The Riddler in the next Batman movie.

Depp was interviewed a few days ago by the morning crew at Big 105.9, a Miami classic rock station. Depp chatted with DJs Paul and Young Ron in advance of a reunion gig with his old band, The Kids, in Miami last week.

When asked if he was playing the part, he replied, "Not that I know of," before adding, "It seems like it’d be a fun gig for awhile, yeah."

It's sort of a coy answer, because he doesn't deny or confirm that he's at least been offered the part. But he doesn't rule out that he'd play the character, either.

So what do you all think? Who do you think the next Batman movie villain should be? And who should play said baddie? Actually, one of my favorite Batman villains is a lesser-known character called The Reaper. He was sort of an anti-Batman — a rich socialite by day and murderous vigilante by night. I could easily see Jason Statham playing the part. He can pull off both the charm and the menace, and he could probably do most of his own stunts.

But, I'd also be totally happy with Depp as the Riddler. Basically, as long as director Christopher Nolan remains at the franchise's helm, I have complete faith they'll make a great choice.
