in 'Sweeney Todd'The Digital Bits reports spring DVD release dates for two of 2007's finest horror flicks.
"The Mist" is due out in a two-disc collector's edition on March 25 and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" will appear in both one- and two-disc form April 1.
I don't think "Sweeney Todd" ever played in our area, so if you didn't get a chance to see it, I recommend at least renting it. I can't remember the last time I saw a horror musical and "Sweeney Todd" delivers both memorable songs and gruesome effects.
"The Mist" had mixed reviews when it played in theaters. Critics seemed to love or hate it. I can see both sides. Director Frank Darabont delivered a solid, scary B-movie. It definitely had a political message and at times seemed overly preachy. But there's no denying the power of that ending. Darabont rewrote the ending to Stephen King's original short story and King said he liked it better than his own. I recommend at least renting "The Mist" so you can argue with your friends about it!
