It is amazing the number of people stepping up and questioning the "role" of our council in our businesses, yet they continue to hang their hat on their own personal concerns or the concerns of the limited support there is.

Democracy it is not.

I await the first person to go into a restaurant and smoke a cigarette and then refuse to put it out. Maybe the tobacco police will come and the city will get sued?

Sounds like the city is setting itself up for a good old lawsuit to fatten up someone's wallet.

In Erie County Pennsylvania one exists. The suit claims the smoking ban, set to go into effect February 17, violates provisions in the Pennsylvania Clean Air Act of 1988. The act states that no county or municipal law can supersede the state.

I'm sure someone will come up with some act or law that will spend away our city's budget in court fees etc.
