&lt;p&gt;And finally in the sixth century, a highly regarded Christian monk named Cosmas wrote a book entitled Topographia Christiana in which he described the structure of the physical world. Cosmas based his conclusions on the teachings of the Bible and held that the Earth is flat and surrounded by four seas. The reason for Cosmas&#039; belief in a flat Earth was the statement in Revelation 1:7 that, when Christ returns, &quot;Every eye shall see him.&quot; Cosmas logically concluded that if the Earth were round instead of flat, people on the other side would not be able to see Christ&#039;s second coming.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In fact the bible has more passages that pertain to the Earth being flat than it does pertaining to the issue of homosexuality (about thirty more).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ok So I am taking EVERYTHING the bible says and go by it, because it&#039;s the word of GOD, the one the only, all knowing.  You&#039;d think I was crazy if I said the earth was flat...also this goes back to the fact you pick and choose what you want to believe.  Common knowledge and space exploration has proven beyond a doubt the earth is round and it revolves around the sun....but thats far from what the bible says....OMG did god make a mistake?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Now that science has proven that wrong, it begs the question should we take everything in the bible literally?  NO, I don&#039;t think so, If God and his henchmen can&#039;t get that right then who&#039;s to say other verses/quotes/phrases are?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So where does this leave us?&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Everyone here who keeps basing their decisions and opinions of discrimination against homosexuals on what has been planted into their brain as the &quot;Holiest of Constitutions&quot;, the Bible, is undermining the entire concept of this entire argument.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is not an argument about whether or not homosexuality is alright or not because &quot;God&quot; whether or not he even exists said it, but it is an argument really about our government and rights.  The first Amendment to our Constitution makes clear that religion hasn&#039;t a guiding hand in our governing decisions,and every time one of you roars out incompetence in the name of God against the practice of homosexuality, you are defeating the one beacon of reason and enlightenment that the founding fathers thought SO important that it was the very first amendment to our nation&#039;s charter.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Step back from your religious convictions first, and examine the issue from a purely secular, governing point of view and ask yourself if discriminating against a group of people because they are different than the mass population is fair, rather than cite texts that don&#039;t and shouldn&#039;t have a relevance to the matter at hand.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That is, with great pleasure, I present to you to read, rather than speculate, the 1st and 14th amendments to the Constitution:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1: &quot;Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.&quot;&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;is it wrong to discriminate against packer fans? does a packer fan really choose to be a packer fan or is it hereditary? maybe some deep dark secret in their pasts caused them to become packer fans without really knowing why they like the packers. i mean, green and yellow??!?!??!! really ugly colors. i don&#039;t know why anyone would choose to be a packer fan. either way, i discriminate against packer fans. when i see a packer fan at target (most packer fans should shop at wal mart where they belong) i yell things at them and run really fast. one time, i was walking down mainstreet and actually walked across the road to use the other sidewalk so i wouldn&#039;t have to walk by a packer fan. we had a packer fan right here in hutch. the reason i pay the high taxes to live in hutchinson was to get away from the riff raff packer fans. i think we need to beef up security on the wisconSIN-minnesota border. (yes i capitalized the sin in wisconSIN for a reason). it&#039;s horrible, with all these packer fans walking around corrupting our viking youth into becoming a packer fan simply because of the guy i refer to as &quot;number 4&quot; (i refuse to use his name.) is some sort of false god in the state of wisconsin. the bible says we shouldn&#039;t worship false gods but yet i see all these green and yellow jackets in our state and the evil people that practice packerism. if our forefathers could see all of the evil green and yellow &quot;number 4&quot; worshiping heathens, i think they would have made rules to prevent this from happening. what is our city council going to do about this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;There&#039;s a problem with your argument almcitiesgirl.  All of the examples that are listed as whom our country has outlawed discrimination against are undoubtably genetic traits.  There are no contradicting studies, no moral arguments, no activists, and no question that people who are born women, black, jewish, or mentally handicapped, could not control their fate...nor could behavior or their life experience or any choice that they should make, change who they are.&lt;br /&gt;
Now many openly gay people would argue that they were &quot;born that way&quot;, that it&#039;s &quot;genetic and uncontrollable&quot; etc. etc.  But the fact remains that there are no absolutely sound and trusted, documented studies that completely close the case on that discussion.  None.  Zero.&lt;br /&gt;
Now based on your statements, anyone has ground to stand on in a fight for rights in this country based on behavior alone and a person who believes that they are genetically disposed to sex with children, genetically programmed to harm others, genetically programmed for multiple wives, animals (since we want to equate ourselves and our sexual drive to the animal kingdom anyhow...)anything goes, as long as I slap a &quot;Genetic&quot; label on it.&lt;br /&gt;
I mean no disrespect, only to open your eyes to the weakness of this argument.&lt;/p&gt;
