Win $20/week. Ok, here it

Win $20/week. Ok, here it is a shameless plug for the newest contest on hutchinsonleader.com, or any of our other sister papers. With the Nascar season about to start this weekend, I would like to invite you to join our Auto Racing Challenge that is accessible through the ad at the bottom of the homepage, or the contest dropdown menu at the top of the page. You just have to pick the order of the top 10 winners and then see how close you come. The top picker each week will win $20, and $100 for the overall season winner. And best of all it's free to play. Sign up today, or if you are reading this well into the season, you can still sign up anytime and win the weekly prize. Even if you don't like racing that much, just guess and who knows you may win the $20. Thank you for signing up and playing, I know I will have fun this season.

Mini-Rods in Brownton. There was also a Mini-Rod pull held on Sunday in Brownton for the 150th Celebrations. I have a few pics for those that missed it. And yes that is the Mayor in a few of these pics(on the red one). He did a very good job of pulling. Enjoy, this was a fun event to see.

Brownton 150th Parade. I

Brownton 150th Parade. I would say that the Brownton Sesquicentennial Celebration was a great success. I heard a lot of comments around town this weekend, how well the celebration went and how much everyone enjoyed it. Hats off to the committee and everyone else who worked so hard to put this event together. I can say that I was very proud to be a Brownton resident this past weekend. I have a slide show of the parade that was held on Sunday for those who want to see it again or those who were unable to attend. Enjoy...

Silver Valley in Kellogg,

Silver Valley in Kellogg, Idaho is where these pics are from. This was another stop on our summer vacation this year. We were able to go on the world's longest gondola ride up the mountain. Although this was a 20-25 minute ride, you could go even farther on the regular ski lifts if you wanted. For those of you who know me, I stayed at the first stop while the rest went on to the peak. The pics are beautiful, but they are not mine. The heights were just a bit too much for me. Anyway, as youwill see the kids did enjoy this....

The weekend is almost here.

The weekend is almost here. I am ready even though it was a short week, we had field trips and other school stuff to prepare for and the week after camping is always busy, because of the extra laundry and putting things away again. Anyway, school is almost out as well for the kids. It seems that our district is the latest in Minnesota to get out, the last day is next Friday June 8th. This summer should be fun, vacations, swimming lessons, softball, and that is just the start of the list. Busy, Busy, once again. I will be sure to keep you updated....

Camping this weekend went

Camping this weekend went very well. It was a bit cold Friday and Saturday night, but we survived. Can you believe that there was no rain? I don't, but it happened. Overall, I think that everybody had a great time. We had a few friends stop by also, to help us enjoy the campfire and let the kids have some fun. Check out the short video from the weekend....

The perfect cast!: The kids

Only one sunfish was caught, but they enjoy the fishing anyway. I must say that the casting skills by both are improving greatly. This year on vacation, I should be able to do more fishing myself, as the kids seem to be able to do most of the skills themselves now. I also caught my first Northern of the year, right before the rain hit on Saturday evening. That was fun, I always like a fish with fight. I have attached a fun pic for you to enjoy also....." title=" The kids did a little fishing from the dock this weekend. Only one sunfish was caught, but they enjoy the fishing anyway.
Fishy Fotos are back again

Fishy Fotos are back again this year. It even has it's own domain name this year, so it will be easier to tell your relatives how to see you pictures online--www.fishyfotos.com or of course you can get to it through the news site as well. I am excited to see all the fish pics that show up this year. You can also see samples from last year as well. The lures from JBLures are great as well, and they really work. As I live close to the factory, I use all their lures when I fish. The walleye rigs are especially good. Anyway, I hope to get a few pics myself this weekend to put up, so if you have any be sure to get them uploaded for all to see. On a personal note, I am teaching the kids how to troll this year, that should be a lot of fun for them. After all, that is how you get the big ones. And, if they are not biting, you can also go after the crappies with a bobber... Have a great weekend!

I didn't get any video from

I didn't get any video from the fishing opener this weekend. I forgot the camera in the truck. That is OK though, because we didn't catch any fish either. I think is was because we tried to squeeze six people into a 16 ft fishing boat. The fact that the wind was a bit breezy didn't help either. We couldn't seem to anchor where we wanted to. Anyway, so I did manage to get some video of the kids after we drove home chasing each other with the garden hose. Not sure who was having more fun, the one spraying or the one getting sprayed. You decide..........
