B@ss Doctor:

This poster came out before the movie and in the movie, you see this script used pretty extensively.

It's even used in the subtitles!

I'll call it Transformer language, for lack of a better term, and it was probably just made up some graphic designer to give geeks like myself something to obsess over.

Apparently there is no one

Apparently there is no one smarter than you Jorge.

I work for an international company who has ties in the Asia Pacific. We contacted Tawainese (Mandarin and Chinese languages), Japanese, and Korean. Not one of them could confirm the writing.

With over 30,000 views from an array of cultures, if this was a "real" symbol or writing, I would assume there would have been responses. I will keep digging to see what I can find.

I might have to speak with Optimus himself.

I didn't realize this as I was writing this review, but today is Clint Eastwood's birthday. He turns 77.

Here's a trivia tidbit: Eastwood's classic squint developed out of necessity while filming "A Fistful of Dollars" under the glare of arc lights and the desert sun.

I'm still looking for this movie to show up in Hutchinson somewhere...seems to have slipped through the cracks!
I'm very disappointed...was looking forward to watch this again!

That is a great idea, remember to pull your pockets out on your pants cause kids in the future wear their pants inside out. If you go to the BTTF.com website you can order the color changing hat that Marty wore....

Eric:
Thanks for this handy

Eric:

Thanks for this handy guide :-)

No. 4: 3 stars...right up there with No. 2. It is the start of the "Tommy trilogies," who is played by Corey Feldman.

I forgot he was in that one. That was the last one I watched, with a bunch of friends, and we just kind of MST3K'd our way through it.

No. 6: 4 stars....most underrated of the Jason films. Thom Matthews plays a older Tommy and steals the show. Ok, maybe not steal the show, but his character is one you root for. Unlike the previous movies, this one has some comedy and action to go with the usual suspense.

I will definitely check this one out.

No. 7: 1 star....a house blows up and Jason walks out in one piece. Come on.

Wow. So, like, that was only thing about the "Friday the 13th" series that struck you as beyond the realm of possibility?

No. 8: 1 star....the movie shifts to Manhatten. The best thing about Jason is the woods scenary. Go back to Crystal Lake.

That sounds like it could be cool, if it were done well. By having Jason battle the Ghostbusters. Or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Happy Monday,
Jorge

I was a horror movie buff in

I was a horror movie buff in my high school days and I even watched the first nine Jason movies in a row. Yes, that was more than 15 hours straight of movie. I'm sure a couple of tubs of popcorn were consumed.

I haven't seen Jason vs. Freddy, but have a copy of it and will someday watch it. Jason X in space, I'll pass.

Here are my Jason ratings:
No. 1: 3 1/2 stars...classic movie that is suspenseful and has a great cast that includes Kevin Bacon

No. 2: 3 stars...my third favorite of the bunch. It has a good flow and has many of the elements that make No. 1 good.

No. 3: 0 stars....a terrible movie that is very predictable and is basically the same as No. 2.

No. 4: 3 stars...right up there with No. 2. It is the start of the "Tommy trilogies," who is played by Corey Feldman.

No. 5: 1 star...has some funny scenes, but the New Beginning really isn't a new beginning.

No. 6: 4 stars....most underrated of the Jason films. Thom Matthews plays a older Tommy and steals the show. Ok, maybe not steal the show, but his character is one you root for. Unlike the previous movies, this one has some comedy and action to go with the usual suspense.

No. 7: 1 star....a house blows up and Jason walks out in one piece. Come on.

No. 8: 1 star....the movie shifts to Manhatten. The best thing about Jason is the woods scenary. Go back to Crystal Lake.

No. 9: 0 stars...disturbing at times. Not worth watching.

So, I guess Jorge, I would only suggest seeing Jason 6. Don't worry about No. 5, you won't miss anything.

For more info on the series:

Wow, I didn't know someone in town drove one of those. With the stainless steel body, it seems like it would be the perfect exotic car for Minnesota driving: No rust!

Hey there, TW. Just so you

Hey there, TW. Just so you know, this is not a remake of the original "Phantasm." This is the original "Phantasm" except all re-mastered, widescreen, in surround sound and all that good stuff. Plus, there's going to be a ton of cool extras: a feature length making-of documentary, promotional interviews from 1979, commentary and more.

Anchor Bay Entertainment also re-released Romero's original Living Dead trilogy on DVD a couple of years ago. If you've seen any of those DVDs, you'll know what a great job Anchor Bay does. You really get your money's worth.

I also have their re-release of "Repo Man" with Emelio Estevez and "Two-Lane Blacktop" with Dennis Wilson and James Taylor. The latter DVD came in a special collector's tin and even had a souvenir keychain, shaped like the cool '55 Chevy Wilson and Taylor drive in that movie.

Once I got over the shock that anyone would dare to step into Kirk's sacred shoes, I guess Matt Damon is as good as anyone. I think Gary Sinise would make a great Dr. McCoy, but I'm not sure about Brody as Mr. Spock. I'll have to think about that.
