I remember passing this

I remember passing this accident and havign to wait for the fire department and ambulance to leave and the traffick back up. I remember thinking omg I hope no one is seriously hurt. I am glad to see no one was. But this tells of a seriouse problem people. people are in too much a stupid hurry. yes we all wanted to get home, but look at what happened when this innocent person was minding his own business, he was rearended by someone too impatient to wait what a few minutes or seconds? I have had people ride my bumper coming into hutch or leaving hutch thinking that this will make me go faster. let me assure the idiots who do this, it does not.98% of the time I have my kids in my yukon and theirsafety is my number one concern. You fools who feel the need to ride my bumper are not worth my children's lives. I am beyond fed up with the people who ride other people bumpers to force them to go faster. what is so urgent you have to do this?obviously something must of been urgent enough for mr. decasas to strike this man on his motorcycle. he is very lucky this gentleman was not fatally hurt. or seriously hurt. very lucky indeed.

Cops shouldn’t be allowed

Cops shouldn’t be allowed to carry tasers! You wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve heard that.

This is a good story for anyone that doesn’t believe that law enforcement officers should carry tasers. With out them on this call, you predict how it would have ended.

justlisahere, even at this late date you should report the incident to the police. It could add weight to action law enforcement brings against the owner.

My son was bitten the day

My son was bitten the day before by the same dog. the dog had attacked my son for no reason. all he had done was walk past the dog and he was off the lease. the dog broke the skin of my son's upper thigh and drew blood. Then we found out that more people had been attacked. My husband and I had been lied too by the owners who said this had not happened before and we found out it had.

SC...here are the missing

SC...here are the missing posts...it's like we are living in a parallel time warp. Maybe we can "beam" our conversations between the two universes? Jeez, I was hoping I didn't have to think so much in this forum and now we have the complexity of time-space astrophysics? I think it has something to do with posting in the past. If we post in the past and you reference something in the present, it creates a black hole vortex that transforms all mass to infinite densities. Needless to say, the Internet does not like this and it creates all kinds of problems. Anyone know a rocket scientist that can help us resolve this problem? Or, maybe I just need to get a life and not worry about this? Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

Sindre,
From your earlier

Sindre,
From your earlier posts you seem to have first hand knowledge of the person involved in the standoff. Do you? If not, how can you say that he needs mental help over being prosecuted. He was armed and endangering the lives of everyone around there.

If you think it is that easy to be sensitive to all people while being an officer, maybe you should become one. I have a lot of respect for anyone who puts on that uniform to protect us all. I would guess most of the people they have to deal with are not the nicest people in the neighborhood. Thanks for a job well done HPD!

As for protecting yourself with hand-to-hand, let's get real. If someone breaks into my home, I want a lot more then my fists, especially if they have a weapon. I agree that too many kids are killed, or injuried because their parents are reckless and leave guns loaded. In those cases the parents should punished to fulest extent of the law.

First off, thanks for the

First off, thanks for the praise, fiscallyconservative. I figured since I was the "new guy" and decided to spend over an hour typing out my take on an issue, I would just be ignored, laughed at, or possibly even ostracized. Much appreciated. :) And I planned on checking back only once on this post to see how bad the damage was and letting it be. But, then I saw another comment I just had to jump on...

Whatever29, I'll admit I may have went a tad overboard with my post. I was told about a few comments on this post by not one, but two friends. One of whom is very much involved in the situation itself. And, frankly, what was said by Sindre ******ed me off. Maybe I let my personal feelings get in the way a bit. But, worst case scenario here, isn't NOT giving people that are on depression medication, or that have undiagnosed or untreated mental issues, a little guidance one of the main causes of most of their problems? Maybe what I said was too critical. But at least I didn't just blow what they said off as nothing because they're on some antidepressants. Most people with serious mental issues are just treated like lepers or even worse, written off and ignored. That's when we get our "crazy old men" that like to randomly expose themselves in public to children, or the ever adored "crazy old cat lady" people just LOVE to talk about in only joking or derogatory manner. Of course, I say these things in partial jest, because it seems that's the way we as a society deal with these people. "When in Rome", am I correct?

Judging only by your name, whatever29, I'm uneducatedly (if that's even a word) assuming you have a high level of apathy towards this, and probably many more, socially unacceptable behaviors. Not to mention mental illness. I do hope my assumption is incorrect, of course. Dismissing people with mental issues is probably a key reason why the aforementioned story happened in the first place. I'll be the first to admit I've even done it before. But, stories like these tend to change one's tune about the matter. But, until he gets the help he obviously needs, he can sit in an "iron bar hotel" and think about what he did. And, hopefully, realize he needs to make some changes so he doesn't do this again, or something even worse.

Thanks again.

-JN

I believe BD was talking

I believe BD was talking about this particular situation where there was a MAN with a gun. I don't think he meant it globally and I had a problem with your playing of the "woman" card. I see this too often (race cards, etc.) and it annoys me when people "evolve" a situation like this to avoid the central topic. But yes, you are entitled to your opinion. Please read JN's posting as I think it is very on-topic and a very good summary of this situation. I apologize for attacking you personally and will try to avoid it in the future. Have a great day and I wish you the best. :)

Wow "Whatever29" I would hate to see how you take on everyday life. You don't NOT talk to someone or acknowledge someone because they aren't like you, that just makes for a very sad and lonely life.

Having a lot of background on issues like this it's safe to say that 90% of the time... the "victim" also has similiar issues. She is only a "victim" now because of the reaction on HIS behalf that led up to this situation.

I don't agree with a lot of the actions of the McLeod Cnty police because Lord knows there are a LOT of crooked cops... BUT..... they did handle this well enough to where nobody was hurt. It would have hurt a LOT of people had this man listened to his drunken emotions. Instead he is being forced to open his eyes and realize that there IS a problem and it needs to be taken care of. Jail is only a temporary solution to a long term problem. They need to offer more emotional help because that's what it all comes down to. Let them do their time in jail because obviously they broke the law. But don't let it end there!
