Healthy individuals who are at least age 17 and weigh at least 110 pounds may be able to donate blood. Recent legislation now allows 16-year-old donors with an American Red Cross parent or guardian consent form the opportunity to donate also.

A new focus group for adult children caregivers will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at the Litchfield Public Library, 216 N. Marshall Ave. Christine Bouley, AmeriCorps volunteer with Lutheran Social Service will be the facilitator. The group’s intent is to teach coping skills, widen support networks, and share experiences for adult children who take care of aging or ill parents.
