"Singers, Indians, Stockade" is the title given to the mural at the Hutchinson Post Office. It was painted in 1942 by Minnesota artist Elsa Jemne. If you’re standing at the counter in the Post Office, just look up and you will see moments in Hutchinson history: the Singing Hutchinson Brothers, the stockade and the burning of Pendergast school during the Dakota-U.S. War of 1862.
For information on more murals around Hutchinson, see the April 24 print edition of the Hutchinson Leader.
