Enjoy watching youth learn and showcase their talents? Have an area of expertise you would like to share with young people? Attend the 4-H Judges Training to become a certified judge for 4-H exhibits at county fairs. The training will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Christ the King Church, 1040 South Grade Road, Hutchinson. Snow date is Tuesday, March 4.
This training is geared for community experts, 4-H adult leaders, alumni, parents or experienced judges who are looking for updated information. Participants will learn about specific judging areas, understand how conference judging contributes to youth development and network with other interested judges for 4-H projects. Participants interested in pursuing a judging career may have their names and interest areas circulated to area University of Minnesota Extension offices.
A fee of $20 per person includes supplies and a meal. Registration is at 5 p.m. and an optional Early Bird Session begins at 5:15 p.m. for pets/cats/exploring animals or robotics. A general training session and meal is at 6 p.m. Session I begins at 7 p.m. with choices that include clothing, photography, and mechanical sciences. At 7:45 p.m. food and nutrition, gardening and natural sciences sessions take place.
