Ever wonder what type of tree is best for your yard or would do well in your landscape? If so be sure to attend the tree and shrub identification class from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Redwood Falls Area High School in Redwood Falls.
Participants will learn about the variables that affect tree health and growth and which species will grow and contribute positive characteristics to your community. Plant identification is also necessary when describing plant symptoms to an expert. We will discuss how to identify species of trees and shrubs. Resource materials, common and uncommon trees and shrubs will be identified and reviewed at this educational session.
The class will begin in the school but a walk-through of the school’s environmental learning area will take place for a hands-on tree and shrub identification tour. Come dressed for the weather and walking.
This Woodland Advisor and Master Gardener credit class is open to the public. Advance registration is required. Fee for the class is $20.
