In Tuesday’s Leader: Dille won’t seek re-election, Hutchinson scrutinizes enterprise funds, missing man found

Here’s a preview of stories found in the print edition of the Tuesday, Nov. 17 Leader:

• After months of consideration, State Sen. Steve Dille said he’s formally decided to not run for re-election. When his current term ends on Jan. 3, 2011, Dille will have served 24 years in state government.

• Pages are quickly being torn off the 2009 calendar. That means government bodies, such as the Hutchinson City Council, are racing to finalize their budgets for 2010. The council reviewed four of the city’s enterprise funds last week during a workshop that preceded its regular meeting.

• The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in halting a rash of thefts in northern McLeod County. The thefts are primarily from mailboxes, according to Sheriff Scott Rehmann. They have recently been concentrated in northwest and north central McLeod County.

• A 47-year Hutchinson man was found unharmed in South Park Friday night after an almost five-hour search for him by dozens of emergency personnel from several agencies.

• Katie Olson’s answer to her frustration of having to travel every time she wanted a Christian book or gift was to open her own store. Treasures Untold, which opened in early October at 146 Franklin St. S.W., offers a wide selection of mostly Christian items, as well as “a few used books and consignment things,” Olson said. • In Sports: The Hutchinson Tigersharks won the Section 3A team title at a meet in Willmar over the weekend.
