The Tuesday, Nov. 24 Leader is a combination of the Tuesday and Thursday newspapers and contains all the features normally found in both papers. Here’s a preview of stories found in the print edition:
• Work could begin six months from now on a $8 million to $9 million reconstruction of two of Hutchinson’s venerable streets — Washington Avenue East and Adams Street Southeast.
• Cases of H1N1 influenza are waning across the region and the state, but McLeod County Public Health cautions people not to let down their guard
• Four organizations are providing Thanksgiving dinners in McLeod County on Thursday.
• When asked their forecast for the 2009 holiday shopping season, the quotes from Hutchinson-area retailers are liberally sprinkled with words such as “hopeful,” “optimistic” and “cautious.” Reports from at least one national source can build a case to support all those viewpoints. Read about it on the Business page.
• As Minnesotans know, winter offers a unique way to play, and the 2009-10 edition of the Minnesota State Parks Programs and Special Events catalog is now available to help families plan their winter outings. Read about it on the Outdoors page.
• In Sports: The Hutchinson Tigersharks earned three gold medals Saturday at the Class A Swimming and Diving Meet at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. As a team, the Tigersharks placed second to Sartell-St. Stephen with 207 team points.
• On Thanksgiving, Jon and Bridget Block of Hutchinson will give thanks for their adopted son, Ethan. Read about it in Extra!
