When Carreen Pierson and her husband were planning their move to Hutchinson two years ago from the Truman area she looked forward to the Crow River Arts Inc. shop at Hutchinson Mall. She was disappointed it closed at about the same time.
Pierson, a long-time arts and crafts creator herself, had operated a similar shop in Fairmont. Now she and one of her daughters, Ciara, have brought what they like to term “fine arts and fine crafts” to the Hutchinson Mall with the opening on Sunday, Nov. 1, of Sage Boutique.
Sage Boutique is a consignment shop next to Radio Shack featuring eco-friendly and green products from artisans and craftsperson from throughout the area. It will be open regular mall hours through Dec. 28.
Another temporary shop, Remember the Past, opened in the Mall on Saturday, Oct. 30, next to Jo-Ann Fabrics. It sells antiques and will be open mall hours through the end of December.
