Public comment sought for accreditation visit

Ridgewater College, a community and technical school with campuses in both Hutchinson and Willmar, will host a team representing the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools on Feb. 18–20.

This team will be visiting the college as part of the school’s ongoing accreditation by the commission. The three institutions that merged to create Ridgewater College were all accredited, beginning in 1972 with Willmar Community College.

In preparation for the visit, Ridgewater is seeking public comments relative to the quality of the institution and its programs. The public can submit written comments regarding the college to: Public Comment on Ridgewater College, The Higher Learning Commission, 30 North LaSalle St., Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602.

Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs. Written, signed comments must be received by Jan. 9. The commission cannot guarantee that comments received after the due date will be considered. Comments should include the name, address, and telephone number of the person providing the comments. Comments are not treated as confidential.
