E-Citation grant: Accept a federal Recovery Act Justice Assistance grant for up to $171,509 for adoption of a countywide electronic citation system in squad cars. Approve an additional software license from New World Systems of Troy, Mich., for $20,000 plus tax, to be covered by the grant.
Rezoning request: Deny a request from Clay Montgomery to rezone five acres of a 33.9-acre parcel in Winsted Township from agricultural to highway business, with the intent of constructing a machine manufacturing shop off County Road 9.
Mounted posse: Approve adding a volunteer mounted patrol to the sheriff’s posse. Commissioners tabled this decision last month contingent on determining the volunteers’ eligibility to be covered under workers compensation.
