The sanctuary at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson will ring with the sound of music Thursday evening when BASICS — Brothers and Sisters in Christ Singing — perform in concert.
The group was founded in 2000 by members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart. It started as an outreach ministry of the Worship and Evangelism Team, who performed contemporary music on the fifth Sunday of the month. From there, Brothers and Sisters in Christ Singing expanded its reach by performing at more Sunday worship services. The group performed its first fundraising concert in 2005 for the Hutchinson Area Multiple Sclerosis or HAMS.
At Thursday’s concert, the Christian-based group will perform an eclectic program featuring religious and secular songs ranging in style from country and bluegrass to gospel and contemporary.
