'Star Trek' to open Thursday, May 7

Whether you're a fan or not — James T. Kirk, Spock, Scotty, McCoy, Sulu, Uhura and Chekov — are all back and heading for the big screen. In a relaunch of the "Star Trek" franchise, director J.J. Abrams takes the story back to the beginning when Kirk and Spock meet at Starfleet Academy. "Star Trek" opens at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Century 9 in Hutchinson.
