This is the first of a three-part series on prom written by local youth pastors. The series begins running today, Tuesday, April 15, and will appear Tuesday, April 22, and Tuesday, April 29. Watch for it and share it with your teens.
It’s prom time again. The girls put on the lovely dress they bought months ago. It’s the dress they’ve been dreaming about for years. The guys put on their tuxes, get a haircut and I’ve heard that some of them even shower for this special occasion. It’s also the time when parents and youth ministers all over the country begin their all-night prayer vigil. “Please God protect my child and help them to make good decisions.”
Today's column by written by Steve Olcott, youth and family minister at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.
