Lean-to fire causes $5,000 damage
November 8, 2007 - 12:08pm — Terry Davis
Sparks from a nearby burning barrel apparently ignited a wood pile and other materials in a lean-to at the Tim Halverson home about a mile west of Hutchinson on McLeod County Road 14 (190th Street.) The fire was reported about 4:05 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7. Halverson suffered burns to his face and right arm and hand in an apparent attempt to extinguish the blaze, Hutchinson Fire Chief Brad Emans said. Halverson was taken to the Hutchinson Community Hospital for treatment. Emans estimated the damage at $5,000. Firefighters were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
