Wood pile starts on fire, causes $5,000 damage

Sparks from a burning barrel ignited a wood pile and other items in a nearby lean-to Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 6, at the Tim Halvorson home, a mile west of Hutchinson on 190th Street (McLeod County Road 14). Hutchinson firefighters were on the scene about 30 minutes. The fire caused about $5,000 damage.
