Beware of road raccoons

A raccoon the roadway proved to be dangerous to a McLeod County driver on Monday.

The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office investigated an incident at 9:47 p.m. A 2007 Chevrolet Aveo driven by Jennifer L. Skorczewski of Hutchinson sustained $1,000 damage after striking a raccoon. The crash took place north of Biscay near the intersection of Major Avenue (County Road 4) and 155th Street.

Skorczewski was wearing her seat belt and was not injured.
