City employees could see changes in their health insurance plan if the Hutchinson City Council accepts the recommendation of its insurance consultants and Human Resources Director Brenda Ewing. The meeting will be Wedneday instead of Tuesday, because of Veteran’s Day.
Ewing is recommending a transition to a health reimbursement account plan through Hutchinson’s current carrier, Medica. The deductible would be $1,500 for singles and $3,000 for family, with similar limits for out-of-pocket expenses.
The city would pick up 80 percent of the $450.59-per-month cost for singles and $1,126.19 for families. It also would annually contribute $500 to HRA’s for singles and $1,000 for families.
City Attorney Marc Sebora will report on what apparently have been several months of unsuccessful efforts to get the owner of a home at 220 Lynn Road to clean up the property. The city may seek to raze the building.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the council chamber of City Center, 111 Hassan St. S.E. The meeting will be preceded by a 4 p.m. workshop on the 2009 budgets for the city’s Liquor Hutch and other enterprise funds.
