The firearms deer hunting season starts Saturday, Nov. 7. Even experienced hunters can get lost, so people should be prepared for that possibility before heading out for their hunt, according to Capt. Mike Hammer, DNR Enforcement Education Program coordinator. Hammer offered these tips for those heading outdoors: Tell people were you are going, have a survival plan, admit you’re lost, stay where you are and stay dry.
Ronda Sarner Anderson, author of “Weezer the Sneezer Finds a Home,” will sign her new book from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Little Red Hen, 261 Atlantic Ave. W., Dassel. Anderson credits a writers workshop she attended last winter through Dassel-Cokato Community Education for providing the inspiration she needed to finish the children’s book she was writing.
Hutchinson Theatre Company's fall dinner theater production, "The Curious Savage," opens tonight at 7 p.m. at the Peace Center, 400 Franklin St. S.W., Hutchinson. The play runs through Saturday, Nov. 7, and will run for a second weekend, Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 12-14. Tickets are $30 per person and include dinner and the show.
