A dropped cell phone led to a two-vehicle crash south of Hutchinson Saturday night (Nov. 15).
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Mark Runke, 18, of Maple Grove, was eastbound on 150th Street, about four miles south of Hutchinson, when he dropped his cell phone. He picked it up, but failed to stop for a stop sign at State Highway 15 and was broadsided by a southbound 2001 GMC Denali.
The GMC was driven by Craig Krook, 55, of Cleveland. Krook was treated and released from Hutchinson Community Hospital for a possible neck injury. Runke had no apparent injuries. Both vehicles were totaled.
The crash occurred about 7:08 p.m. Other responding agencies included Hutchinson Fire, Winthrop Ambulance and Hutchinson Ambulance.
