Beginning next month, the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office and Glencoe Police Department will team up to offer their first annual Citizens Law Enforcement Academy.
The academy is a program for those who live and work in McLeod County who want to learn more about how these agencies serve the public. Participants will interact one-on-one with officers and learn firsthand what police officers and deputies do.
Lectures and — when possible — hands-on training will be provided. Classes will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday night, beginning Feb. 4, for six consecutive weeks.
The class is limited to 25 participants. Interested participants who are at least 18 years old, and live or work in the county can call the Sheriff’s Office at (320) 864-1505, or Glencoe Police at (320) 864-5171 for an application.
