Hutchinson man leads St. Cloud police on high-speed chase
May 22, 2008 - 10:55am — Lesley Christianson
A Hutchinson man was arrested in St. Cloud last Thursday after leading police on a high-speed chase. After leading police on a several-block chase in a commercial area, the Pathfinder hit a cement median and a stop sign, slid a short distance and rolled onto its side. The crash took place near the Coborn’s Superstore on Cooper Avenue. Jensen left the vehicle and ran east into a residential neighborhood. Residents in the area told police a man was standing on a deck at the back of a home along 18th Avenue S. Jensen was taken into custody by the St. Cloud Police. He was later transported to the Stearns County Jail and booked on charges of fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, fleeing a police officer on foot, second-degree test refusal, third-degree DWI and driving after cancellation. Jensen also had outstanding warrants from two other jurisdictions. He is being held at the Stearns County Jail awaiting a court appearance. Jensen sustained minor cuts and scrapes from the rollover. No other people or vehicles were damaged during the chase. (Lesley Christianson is a staff writer for the Hutchinson Leader.)
