A combination of timely offense with a solid defense led the Tiger girls' hockey team to a 7-3 start in 2008. After a two week layoff, neither aspect of the game has looked very good in 2009.

The Tigers dropped a 7-0 decision to Eden Prairie in the consolation semifinals of the Kaposia Classic in South St. Paul Friday. Class A No. 11 Hutchinson is playing No. 15 Hibbing/Chisholm at noon today for seventh place.

The Eagles scored two goals in the opening period, three in the second and two more in the third. Tigers Goaltender Zandra Floeder made 21 saves in the loss.

Saturday's schedule:
7th place - Hutchinson vs Hibbing/Chisholm, noon
5th place - Eastview vs Eden Prairie, 2:15 p.m.
3rd place - Blake vs South St. Paul, 5 p.m.
1st place - Roseville vs Crookston, 7:15 p.m.
