With defending champion Fergus Falls dropping out of the Hutchinson Invitational, the door is wide open for the Tigersharks to capture the team title Saturday at Jerry Carlson Pool.
Eight teams, including region schools Litchfield and Dassel-Cokato will be in attendance. Blake, Mankato East, Mankato West, and Waconia will also be in attendance.
Last year, Fergus Falls won the title with 475 points, while the host school and Marshall tied for second with 409 points. The 2006 champion, Blake, placed fourth with 350 points.
Both Marshall and the Tigersharks will only be missing two swimmers that scored points in individual events a season ago.
Marshall returns freestyle sprinter junior Kaylin Caron (50 free, 100 free), freshman Kalin Webskowski (200 IM, 100 fly) and junior Emily Jensen (200 and 400 free relays) — all of which competed in the Class A State Meet last fall.
Marshall state qualifier Kate Snyder (100 fly, 500 free) has moved away from the district to Kansas City.
Diving begins at 10 a.m. with swimming starting at 1 p.m.
