There seems to be great concerns per the proposed bond issue for Hutchinson School District 423 due to our present tough economic times. As one who feels Hutchinson needs to have the best education facilities for its growth and betterment, I found myself reflecting on how the now called "Park Elementary School" was built back in the 1930s during the Depression.

To answer that question I relate to a plaque that is on the wall just inside the main entrance to the auditorium. I wish everyone would read what is on that plaque and appreciate what was accomplished during "tough economic" times of the depression. It gave us, who went to school there, a facility we were proud of and helped provide a great education.

In good or bad economic times the cost will never be less or diminish the need. Go read the plaque and take it to heart. Please!
