The California-based company Shaklee Corporation has started an educational campaign about polar explorer Will Steger and his Arctic expedition. The expedition records the affects of changing climate on the Inuit populations.
Hutchinson Shaklee Senior Coordinator Karen Schlucter and other local Shaklee entrepreneurs are organizing free expedition maps for educators so students can follow Steger’s progress.
“By raising awareness of this expedition and providing free maps, we hope teachers and students can easily follow Will Steger’s journey and at the same time, learn how they can make a difference in our own community,” Schlucter said in a press release.
Steger’s trek across the Arctic will be posted daily with video and audio updates on GlobalWarning101.com. The Web site also provides teachers with free National Geographic certified lesson plans.
