Goku of 'Dragon Ball Z'James Wong is writing and directing a live-action adaptation of the popular anime series "Dragon Ball Z."
Fans of "The X-Files" might remember Wong as a frequent writer, producer and occasional director of the Fox TV series.
Since 2001, Wong has crossed over into the world of cinema, directing and writing "The One" starring Jet Li and "Final Destination 3." Wong also directed the first "Final Destination" and produced "Willard" and the 2006 remake of "Black Christmas."
I think I can forgive Wong for that last one if he can recapture the magic of the "Dragon Ball Z" series.
ComingSoon.Net [1] reports most of the "DBZ" film will be shot next year in Mexico, using forest and other locations near Durango and some shots at Nevado de Toluca, a volcano.
I want to know how they'll render the mighty warrior Goku's mighty huge hair. You'd think it'd have to be CGI, or the actor's neck would snap under the weight of his wig.
