Sixty-two years ago today, a flight of five U.S. TBM Avengers vanished during a training exercise off the Florida coast.
The wreckage of the missing WWII-era torpedo bombers has never been found. Some have opined the five planes were lost to supernatural forces.
The Bermuda Triangle, a part of the Atlantic Ocean off the southeast coast of the U.S., is believed by some to be a gateway to another dimension.
I don't know if I buy all that, but it's fun to speculate about creepy phenomena.
One of the finer movies out there about the Bermuda Triangle is 1974's “The Devil's Triangle.”
It's a documentary narrated by the ever-spooky Vincent Price. Prog rock group King Crimson provided an eerie musical score. At the time of its release, producers promoted “The Devil's Triangle” with a nifty gimmick.
They offered $10,000 to any moviegoer who could solve the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle. As far as I know, nobody ever collected the reward.
Check out the wicked trailer for “The Devil's Triangle” below - if you dare.
