A two-vehicle crash near Plato left three people injured Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 6).
According to the State Patrol, the crash occurred at about 3:47 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 212 and Fourth Avenue Southeast. Francis Green, 62, of Norwood Young America, was southbound on Fourth Avenue and allegedly failed to yield the right of way at the intersection.
His 1989 Chevrolet Blazer was broadsided by a westbound 1995 Buick Roadmaster driven by Dennis Matuska, 65, of Glencoe. Green received head injuries and was taken to Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. His wife, Nancy Green, 62, received chest injuries and a possible collapsed lung. She was taken to Glencoe Regional Health Services.
Matuska was also taken to Glencoe Regional Health Services for treatment of a broken leg. All three people were wearing their seat belts. Plato Fire and Rescue and Glencoe Ambulance also responded to the scene.
