Kelly Paul Peterson, 40, of Kimball, the last of three defendants convicted of distributing the highly addictive and dangerous drug methamphetamine, also known as meth, was sentenced May 5.

Peterson was sentenced in Minneapolis by United States District Court Judge Donovan Frank to one year and one day in prison and three years of supervised release on one count of aiding and abetting distribution of meth.

Two other defendants were sentenced on April 21. Scott Orris Rolla, 48, Hutchinson, was sentenced to 108 months in prison and five years of supervised release on one count of conspiracy to distribute meth. Linda Faye Otteson, 44, Hutchinson, was sentenced to three years probation on one count of aiding and abetting distribution of meth.

All three defendants were charged in a superseding indictment on Oct. 1, 2007, and all three pleaded guilty in early January to their respective charges.

The three were arrested in May 2007, following an arranged “controlled purchase” of eight grams of meth. Police executed a search warrant at Peterson’s residence and recovered approximately four grams of meth. A related search of Rolla’s apartment yielded approximately 120 grams of meth, drug trafficking paraphernalia and $6,800 in cash.
